Water Outages Planned To Facilitate Works In South-East Clare

South-East Clare residents will face disruptions to their water supply tomorrow night in order to facilitate essential works.

As part of Uisce Eireann’s leakage reduction programme, there will be planned outages across Cratloe and Meelick from 8pm until midnight.

Upon completion, the works are intended to strengthen the water supply in both areas by reducing leakage and improving the network’s operational performance.

Programme Manager with Uisce Éireann, Jack Cronin says every effort will be made to reduce the impact of these works on homes and businesses and restore the water supply as quickly as possible.

“We understand the impact that outages can have on customers and would like to thank the local community in advance for their patience and co-operation during the works.”

The outage will take place from 8pm to midnight on Wednesday, 29 May. During this time, homes and businesses at Clonconane, Thomond Village, Ferndale, Whitethorn Drive Lower, Birch Avenue, Hazel Avenue, Rowen Avenue, Willow Avenue, Alderwood Avenue, Woodbine Avenue, Pinewood Avenue, Mayfield Road, Glendora Avenue Glenmore road, Cratloe Wood Student Village, Aherlow Close, Galtee Close, Clonile, Camira Court, Cratloe Court Drive and surrounding areas may be impacted by reduced water pressure or supply interruptions. The areas that may be impacted by the outage in Meelick include Summerhill, Old Cratloe Road, Carraig Hill, The Barrows, Lower Meelick, Phares Road and surrounding areas.

As the water supply returns, there may be some increased instances of discoloured water in the short-term. For helpful tips on what to do following an outage, visit https://www.water.ie/help/supply/after-an-outage/
