West Clare Pensioner & His Loyal Companion Bidding To Bridge Housing Shortage

 

A West Clare pensioner has taken a unique approach to combatting the national housing shortage.

71 year-old Kit Smalley and his loyal dog Yeoh have been living in a makeshift room under a bridge in Doonbeg Village for the last two weeks, while urgent remediation works are carried out at his rented accommodation of the previous eight years.

Kit says he has exhausted all options to gain emergency shelter , however his efforts so far have proved unsuccessful.

Despite his current living situation , Kit’s insisted he will not give up in his bid to secure a forever home.
