The widow of a Lahinch native who was killed in a 2019 plane crash believes the same mistakes could be repeated, if those responsible for his death are not brought to justice.

Micheál ‘Mick’ Ryan was travelling from Addis Ababa to Nairobi on the 10th of March 2019, when the Boeing Max 737 plane he’d boarded crashed within minutes of take-off, causing his death and the deaths of 156 others.

An inquest at Horsham in Britain has found that the three British victims were “unlawfully killed” which has led to renewed hopes that those who are to blame for the air tragedy are held to account.

Mick’s widow, Naoise Connolly Ryan, says it is imperative that justice is sought to ensure no one is seen to be above the law.
