The widow of a Clare humanitarian worker who was killed in a plane crash five years ago is hopeful a new development will bring her one step closer to securing justice for his untimely death.

Lahinch man Mícheal ‘Mick Ryan’ along with all 156 other souls on board lost their lives on March 10th 2019, when the Boeing 737 Max they were travelling on, crashed minutes after take-off in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Boeing had been exempt from criminal charges due to a deferred prosecution agreement, but the Department of Justice has this week ruled, that Boeing breached these terms and is open to charges.

Mícheál’s widow Naoise Connolly Ryan says the people at the top in Boeing must be held accountable.
