Work on the next phase of the M18 Motorway is to continue in the new year.
Commuters have been promised that the new dual carriageway they’re now driving from Ennis to Gort will stretch to Oranmore and onto Tuam in the coming years, despite fears that major road spending could be cut.
The Transport Minister previously stated that the the next phase of the N18 might or might not go ahead, depending on tough budget decisions taken by government.
But speaking to Clare FM at the opening of the Crusheen to Gort By-pass, Minister Noel Dempsey said hes much more confident than that due to the public private partnership involved in funding the next phase.
