World Record confirmed after Kilmaley man swim

An underwater swim undertaken by a Kilmaley man last month has just been confirmed as a world first by the Guinness Book of Records.

Christy Healy- who lives in Ennis completed the challenge on his second attempt, becoming the first man ever to undertake a 10km underwater swim/dive without surfacing.

He achieved this feat in the waters of Lough Derg and has so far raised 14 and a half thousand euro for the Share a Dream Foundation.

The records and evidence collected by the appointed teams on the day of the swim  were submitted to the Guinness Book of World Records Office and Mr Healy has now received his confirmation certification
