An organisation set up by former Clare hurler Tony Griffin has been given a major cash injection following this week’s Social Entrepreneurs ireland awards.

Soar, which was established by the Ballyea man and Karl Swan, aims to promote self-confidence and leadership skills in young people.

It is inspired by the charity set up by the late Jim Stynes in Australia and it’s programmes are being rolled out in schools around the country.

200,000 euro has now been donated to the project as a result of the Social Entrepreneurs award, which was announced this week.
