Morning Focus Live From Scariff

On Wednesday’s Morning Focus Alan was joined  by guests from the Scariff community and surrounding areas to discuss what the locality has to offer. Guests included Padraig Giblin, the owner of Derg Isle Adventure Centre and Harry O’Meara, Chairman of the Scariff Harbour Festival.

Later, Alan spoke with Morgan Lahiffe who is the Senior Executive Officer for the Killaloe Municipal District along with Alan O’Callaghan, Cathaoirleach of the Killaloe Municipal District and Joe Cooney, Fine Gael Councillor for the Killaloe Electoral area.

Also joining Alan was Elaine Bradley from Seedsavers, Graham Lightfoot from the Community Garden  and Martina O’Brien, owner of ‘In Season Flowers and Garden Centre’ and the newly opened ‘Café Teasir’.

Other guests included Oliver Kirwin, Organizer of the Quest Lough Derg. Faye Maloney, Singer/Songwriter from Scariff.

Representing sport in the community was Mike Madden from Scariff Rugby Club. Scariff / Ogonnelloe Munster Camogie Champions Rachel Daly, Jennifer Daly and Alva Rodgers had a chat with Alan along with Ross Horan from Scariff / Ogonnelloe GAA.

Additionally Alan spoke with Arlene White from East Clare Tourism,  Jane Halloran Ryan and Cli Donnellon, who is the owner of Turas House.

Local musical talent included Faye Maloney a singer/songwriter from Scariff who played an original song.  John Keehan playing the fiddle  and Ciara O’Sullivan on the harp, closed the show with tunes from John’s CD released in 2020 ‘The Humours of Scariff’.
