On Thursday’s Morning Focus, Alan Morrissey was joined by Robert Ledwith to chat about his photo called “A Ray of Hope”.
It was photographed in Co. Clare and won first place in the newly added Protectors of the Coast category.
In the image you can see Raymond Twomey, a beach operative with Clare County Council, litter picking along the Blue Flag Beach at Fanore. This category was added to mark Clean Coasts 20th anniversary, as a way to showcase what volunteering on our coast is all about.
The Love Your Coast competition asks amateur photographers to capture and celebrate the uniqueness of our coastal communities, environments, or waterways such as its stunning coastline, beautiful beaches, epic cliff faces, and raging rivers.
