Morning Focus: Live Broadcast From Scariff

Morning Focus was broadcasting live from the Edna O’Brien Public Library in Scariff.

Firstly, we revisited an issue we discussed last week regarding the pilot school bus scheme for South-East Clare students. We heard from parents Aoife Keogh and Edel Rafferty about a protest that took place in sixmilebridge this morning.

After that, Alan was joined by Senior Planner & Killaloe MD Coordinator Brian McCarthy, and Cathaoirleach of the MD, Cllr Joe Cooney to discuss their plans for Scariff.

Next, Alan was joined by Oliver Kirwin, the organiser of “Quest Lough Derg” to discuss the event.

Alan was then joined by Ollie Gleeson of Ollie’s Tours and Shane Talty, Fianna Fáil Councillor from Ennistymon, who is on the Cliffs of Moher Board to disuss the two section closures of the Cliffs of Moher walking trail.

After that, Alan was joined by Professor in International Politics at the University of Birmingham, David Dunn and John Dixon, a Florida voter living in Ennis to talk about the Democratic National Convention.

We then had our Parenthood in Focus segment with Petrina O’ Halloran, founder of Mama’s Boobie Box, mum blogger and writer for online magazine Boobingit.com

Later, Alan welcomed the Senior Library Assitant at Edna O’Brien Library, Tara Considine to find out what the library offers.

Alan was then joined by local Scariff musicians, fiddle player John Keehan and singer/songwriter, Faye Maloney.

We then heard from the Chairwoman of East Clare Community Co-operative, Felice Rae.

To close the show, we had our Places and Tunes segment with Therese McInerney.
