The 2023 European Year of Skills is aimed at helping companies, in particular small and medium enterprises, to address skills shortages in the EU. It also aims to promote a mindset of reskilling and upskilling, helping people get the right skills for quality jobs.
It is hoped the European Year of Skills will provide new momentum to reach the EU 2030 social target of at least 60% of adults in training every year and at least 78% in employment. Indeed, the inaugural group of Workboat-Master Trainees recently had their conferring ceremony.
