Podge Collins Hanging Up His Boots

On Thursday’s Morning Focus, Podge Collins spoke with Clare FM’s Sports Editor Derrick Lynch about his inter-county football retirement announcement.

Earlier this month, Clare football received a big blow after confirming Podge Collins’ retirement from inter-county action. The Cratloe man decided to call time on a career that began back in 2014.

He switched from a dual mandate in 2017 to focus on hurling but returned to the football set-up in 2021. It’s a setback for Clare boss Mark Fitzgerald, who must plan for the 2024 season without up to 11 of his players.
