Big champiosnhip weekend ahead for senior and intermediate sides

Starting with gaa and Round one of the county senior hurling and intermediate hurling championship takes place this weekend with 12 sides involved in senior action and 10 teams beginning their intermediate campigns.

Clooney Quin begin their campaign against Broadford after a mixed league campaign which saw them rack up wins over Clonlara but also lose to Whitegate and Tulla.

Manager Pat O Rourke says Championship is where they will be truly tested:

Another the big game of the weekend’s games one  will be at midday on Sunday as Clonlara aim to heal the wounds of last seasons defeat to Cratloe.

They take on a St Joseph’s side who are looking to build on a strong underage panel:

Scariff also get their campaign  underway with an opening tie against Kilmaley.

The East Clare outfit have welcomed back former Clare manger Mike Mc namara to the fold to help with their champiosnhip push.

There are two outstanding Div 1 League fixtures also this weekned. 

On Saturday, Kilmihil have a home venue against West Clare Gaels at 5p.m. while on Sunday Liscannor play Fergus Rovers at Lahinch at 4.30p.m.
 
At Intercounty level Clare will compete in the annual All Ireland U 14 Blitz tomorrow.

Clare are in the Division 2 section which is being held at St. Bridgets G.A.A Club, Kiltoom. 

Supporters are asked to note the change of venue.
