The Clare swimmer who just missed out on a place at the London Olympics says he’s hoping to use the disappointment of 2012 to spur him onto World Championship success this summer.

Chris Bryan missed out on a spot in the Olympics in a photo finish, despite swimming the crucial qualifier with the shingles, while hopes that he would then qualify for the open water swimming event were then dashed in the weeks before the Games.

The Shannon man says he’s now only looking forward, and under new coach Lars Humer he’s targetting the World Student Games in Russia and the World Championships in Barcelona, both events which are being held this summer.

Chris has told Clare FM that he hopes to prove his worth on the world’s stage.
