Clare to meet Dublin in hurling qualifer while Mc Dermott refuses to be drawn on future plans

Starting with Gaa news and  the Clare senior hurlers will play Dublin in less than 2 weeks time in the All Ireland qualfiers on the 10th of July

It’s the second time this year  that a manager from Clare will face his native county in the championship  as Anthony Daly faces up to Ger O Loughlin on the sidelines.

The Clare boss says his side can go into the game with optimism:

The other hurling qualifer will see Offaly hosting  Limerick in Tullamore.

The winners of the qualifers will play the winners of the Tipperay/Wexford and Carlow/Antrim round one matches which take place this weekend.

The draw has been made for round 2 of the All Ireland football qualifiers

Dublin have been drawn at home to Tipperary while All Ireland contenders Cork have been drawn at home to Cavan, Wexford will travel to either Galway or Sligo while Westmeath welcome Derry to Mullingar

In the other games Fermanagh meet Armagh, Down host Longford and Offaly take on Waterford while Kildare or Antrim will host Leitrim

Most of those fixtures will take place next weekend with venues and times to be confirmed today

Meanwhile Clare football boss Michael Mc Dermott has refused to comment on his future with the senior side following Saturday’s defeat to Offaly,.

Clare lost to the Faithful county in Tullamore after extra time on  despite  having led at one stage in the second half by 7 points.
