Clondegad are sweating on the fitness of the county captain ahead of their bid for successive appearances in the Clare Senior Football Quarter Finals.

Gary Brennan hasn't featured so far this summer for his club after picking up an injury in Clare's championship exit, and is set to undergo a late fitness test ahead of this Saturday's meeting with O'Currys.

Clondegad boss Michael Hehir says he's a huge influence in the camp

That one throws in at 5.30pm on Saturday evening in Doonbeg.

Meanwhile St Breckans selector Neil Hawes says he feels the pressure is now off his side as they prepare to face Kilrush for a place in the last eight.

A win for the North Clare side over Lissycasey in Round One means they are guaranteed their senior status, and have two chances at reacing the knockout stages.

Hawes says he's expecting a positive performance

That one gets underway on Saturday in Miltown at 6.30pm
