Clubs Gearing Up For Opening Round Of Clare Football Leagues

The first round of club football league games in Clare are set to be held on Bank Holiday Monday next, with games across each of the divisions scheduled across the day.

The pick of the ties in the Cusack Cup is the meeting of neighbours Kilmurry Ibrickane and Miltown with that game set to be the first competitive fixture played at Pairc Naomh Mhuire in Quilty since the completion of their new pitch.

Eire Óg will have home advantage when they take on Ennistymon, with the Townies being one of the teams most impacted by the absence of their county players.

Manager Paul Madden feels it is a great opportunity for club players to get game time in the lead up to championship.

Elsewhere in the opening round, Clondegad host St Breckan’s in Ballynacally while Kildysart go to Doonbeg.
