Countdown Begins To Start Of 2023 Clare SFC

The captain of the Ennistymon footballers is hopeful their maiden senior silverware can be the catalyst for further success in 2023.

First up for Mark Shanahan’s side is a clash with 2022 intermediate winners Kildysart in Corofin on Friday evening.

Captain and county star Cillian Rouine feels having a trophy already secured is something that will bring plenty confidence.

Meanwhile Corofin’s Gearoid Cahill is confident their squad has learned from the progress made last year.

In what was their first year back at the top level, Doug Hurley’s side reached the final four before losing out to Eire Óg.

Cahill says that experience will stand to them as they prepare for an opening round tie against St Joseph’s Doora Barefield.
