In the county U21 football championship Cratloe began the defence of their title with a 4-5 to 1-14 win over St Joseph’s.
There was also wins for Ennistymon over Eire Og by 2-7 to 6 points, Cooraclare over Doonbeg on a 4-15 to 3 points scoreline and and Kilrush overcame Kilmurray Ibrickane by 1-19 to 1-5.
Kildysart-Coolmeen received a walkover from Ml. Cusacks /Tubber /Kilfenora Liscannor while in the B championship Shannon gales and Clarecastle drew 3-3 to 1-9
