Doonbeg Pleased To Keep Progression Hopes Alive In Clare SFC – Keane

Doonbeg manager John Keane feels it was vital his side got something from their clash with Clondegad in order to keep their hopes of progression in the championship alive.

The Magpies looked on course to secure their first win of the campaign when leading into the final quarter of the tie, but a late flurry of scores from the Ballynacally men secured a share of the spoils.

It means the West Clare side are still in contention for a place in the next stage of the championship with a final round tie against champions Eire Og to come in two weeks time.

Keane says their target was to make sure their fate was kept in their own hands.
