A legend of minor hurling has said that sides who are beaten in their provincial championships should not get a second bite of the cherry

Jimmy Doyle made the comments ahead of Clare’s clash with Kilkenny on September fifth… the Banner reached the decider in Croke Park despite losing their opening game of the year against Waterford.

Clare continued their preparations last evening with a training session at Cusack park, and in ten days time the Banner faithful will be making the trip to GAA HQ for only the county’s third ever All Ireland Minor hurling Final

However Jimmy Doyle, who played in four All ireland finals for Tipperary, reckons teams like Clare shouldn’t be afforded a chance to go through the ‘back door’
