Ennis Golfer Valerie Hassett is into the semi finals of the Irish Senior Women’s Close Championship after ousting leading qualifier Pat Doran from the quarter finals at Tullamore Golf Club yesterday,.
Hassett, who already dispatched Catherine Bird (Nenagh) in the previous round, raced to four up at the turn and although Doran pegged back 2 holes, Hassett holed from twenty five feet across the slope on sixteen to close out the match.
Hassett now meets Niamh Giblin of Dun Laoghaire in the first semi-final match this morning.
