Cooraclare Advance To Clare U21 Football Final Showdown Against Eire Óg

Cooraclare have advanced to a Clare U21 Football Final showdown against Eire Óg. 

It’s after they beat defending champions Kilmurry Ibrickane in their last four tie.

A strong second half performance from the Sky Blues saw them beat the Bricks by 1-12 to 1-9 under the lights in Kilmihil.

The sides were level 5 times in a tight opening half, with Kilmurry going in ahead by the minimum on a 0-7 to 0-6 scoreline at half time.

All bar one of Cooraclares scores in the first half came from Killian Roche frees with Pearse Lillis their other scorer. Kilmurry had points from Keelan Sexton, Dermot Coughlan and Daryn Callinan.

The holders got a dream start to the second period, with Coughlan pouncing to find the back of the net before adding a point to send his side four clear.

Cooraclare then struck for 1-4 in a blistering 5 minute spell to lead by two after 50 minutes, with the goal coming from Owen O’Driscoll as he hammered the ball into the roof of the net.

Coughlan then cut the gap to one, but further points from Jack Morrissey and Killian Roche saw them take the victory.
