West Ham’s League Cup dream was shattered last night as Manchester City ran riot at Eastlands.
The home team won the semi-final first leg 6-nil. Negredo grabbed a hat trick for City while Dzeko scored twice and Toure also scored.
It’s been a miserable week so far for West Ham fans after they were thumped 5-nil at Nottingham Forest on Sunday.
In transfer news, it’s being reported that Shane Long is finally on his way to Hull. The West Brom striker almost moved to the Tigers in the last transfer window but the Mirror are suggesting that the deal is now very close to completion.
It looks like Tottenham and England striker Jermain Defoe is to sign for Major League Soccer side Toronto FC. He’ll reportedly be loaned back to Spurs until March – when the MLS season gets under way. Defoe has scored nine goals this season – all of them in cup competitions.
