Inagh Kilnamona secured a two point win over Clooney Quin in their group 1 round 1 tie in Cusack Park this afternoon.
It was Inagh Kilnamona who led from the off, they went 0-04 to no score up before Francis Brownes side registered their first score through a Seamus Conroy goal.
At half time Inagh Kilnamona had an 0-08 to 1-01 advantage, with Clooney Quin just introducing county star Peter Duggan around the 26 minute mark.
With 52 minutes played an Eoin Vaughan goal put Inagh Kilnamona six ahead, however Clooney Quin failed to relent and had it back to a three point game with as many minutes left on the clock.
As the full time whistle went however the margin was still at two points, and a win for Inagh Kilnamona on a final scoreline of 2-12 to 1-13.
Clonlara top group 1 on scoring difference however, as they overcame Ballyea by sixteen points yesterday.
