Inagh-Kilnamona have been dealt a major blow ahead of their must win tie to save their season in the TUS Clare senior hurling championship this weekend.

All Ireland winning forward Aidan McCarthy is unlikely to feature after suffering a thigh injury which looks set to keep him on the sideline for their game against Broadford.

Only a win will do for Tomas Kelly’s side to see them through to the quarter-finals, while Broadford also need a result to ensure their passage through.

Throw in for that one on Sunday afternoon in Cusack Park is at 1pm with commentary on Clare FM with Route 85 Drive Through, Inagh.

Meanwhile, Clooney-Quin manager Fergal Lynch insists his side are not giving up on their chances of reaching the knockout stages of the TUS Clare senior hurling championship.

The East Clare side come into this weekend needing to beat Clonlara by six or more points, while also hoping Eire Óg overcome Ballyea in what promises to be an enthralling evening’s action on Saturday in Group One.

A number of different permutations could yet unfold, with scoring difference a possibility in deciding the outcome of the final standings.

Lynch says while they are disappointed to have come out on the wrong side of two narrow defeats to date, they know there is still plenty to play for.
