McCarthy A Major Injury Doubt For Inagh-Kilnamona’s TUS Clare SHC Opener

Inagh-Kilnamona are sweating on the fitness of All Ireland winner Aidan McCarthy for their opening game of the TUS Clare senior hurling championship.

The county star is understood to have suffered a leg injury and is currently rated as doubtful for their clash with Scariff on Saturday.

Eamonn Foudy, David Fitzgerald and Sean Rynne are all fit to line out, while 2023 All Ireland minor winners James and Fred Hegarty are set to make their senior championship debuts.

U20 county star Shane Woods says their entire focus is on this weekend

That game is set for a 3pm start in Sixmilebridge on Saturday.

Meanwhile championship winning captain with Clonlara, Jathan McMahon, says they want to build on the success of 2023.

Last year saw both the senior hurling and camogie titles come back to the parish, while Clonlara also reached the Munster club final.

McMahon says while they want to replicate that county glory, it won’t come easy as they begin their year against 2022 champions Ballyea

Throw in on Saturday evening in Cusack Park is at 7pm with commentary on Clare FM with Sheils Peugeot, Gort Road, Ennis.
