Moloney Hopeful Of Further Improvement For Banner Hurlers

Clare joint hurling boss Donal Moloney feels their second half performance against Dublin was a sign of the level of performance the squad are capable of.

A strong finish saw the Banner retain their Division 1A status with a 3-18 to 0-19 win.

The winners hit 2-10 after half time with the goals coming from John Conlon and Tony Kelly while Aron Shanager rattled the net in the opening half.

Moloney says while they’re disappointed not to be defending their title, he’s pleased with the development his side have shown.

Meanwhile joint manager Gerry O’Connor says their focus needs to be on producing a sustained performance as thoughts now turn to the championship.

O’Connor says they will review their campaign to see where improvements can be made.
