Clare's Kevin Mulcaire has shattered John Treacy's 40 year old record for the National Junior 5000m.
The Ennis Track clubman set a time of 14.02, two seconds quicker than Treacys time in 1975.
He was running in Manchester at the Trafford British Milers Club meeting, as he continues preperations for the upcoming European Junior championships in July.
