New Senior Football manager on the way for Clare

The process of appointing Clare’s next Senior Football Manager is officially underway.

Last night’s meeting of the Clare County Board adopted a proposal to form a committee to recruit Frank Doherty’s replacement.

Chair and Vice Chair of the board Michael O’Neill and Johhny Hill will be sitting members with 2 more executives officers and relevant representatives from clubs completing the group. 

The committee has issued an open invitation for submissions on broader subjects including structures, coaching and long term goals.

In other news from last night’s meeting

It’s all systems go for this weekend’s GAA fixtures in the county but measures have been put in place to protect the County’s Under 21 Hurlers ahead of their All-Ireland Final appearance on September 13th.

All Senior Championship games for 4th, 5th and 6th of September have been deferred to guarantee a 2 week break for John Minogue’s squad to help them fully prepare for the showdown with Kilkenny.
