Clare football selector David O’Brien feels the squad will take a huge amount of positives from their Munster Semi Final defeat to Kerry.

David Tubridy’s first half penalty helped the Banner go in level at the break, with the Kingdom reduced to 14 men after the sending off of Donnacha Walsh on a second yellow card.

A brilliant second half display from James O’Donoghue and Stephen O’Brien saw the current league champions run out winners by 1-18 to 1-12, with O’Brien’s goal late on putting the game beyond reach of Clare.

O’Brien says while they’re proud of the effort, they’re disappointed to have come up short

Meanwhile Clare forward Eoin Cleary says it’s frustrating to not have got the right result.

The Miltown man says a failure to control the game proved crucial

Kerry now go on to play Cork in the final after the Rebels scraped past Tipperary in the other last four tie.
