Doonbeg still have an outside chance of a quarter-final spot, as they go up against champions Eire Óg in Kilmihil.

Throw in this afternoon is at 1pm with commentary on Clare FM in association with Moo’ghna Milk Vending Machines located at Inagh, Miltown Malbay and Kilrush Rd, Ennis.

The line up for the next stage of the Clare intermediate football championship will also be completed this afternoon.

In Group One, a top of the table clash takes centre stage as Wolfe Tones face Kilmihil in Ballynacally

Tones are the group leaders and are already through, with Kilmihil needing a result to remove any uncertainty about their progression, but the winners of this one will finish top of the standings.

The other game in that Group sees Shannon Gaels face O’Curry’s in Doonbeg, where only a comprehensive win for the Gaels coupled with a Kilmihil loss will be enough to guarantee their progression.

The crucial game in Group Two is between Coolmeen and Liscannor, with a draw or victory enough to send the West Clare side through, but Liscannor need the win to advance.

They meet in Quilty, with Naomh Eoin already assured of top spot in that group.

Group Three is also finely poised, with the Banner and Cooraclare clashing in Lissycasey for a winner takes all clash.

A draw will be enough to secure second place for Cooraclare, while Kilrush are already qualified coming into their showdown with Kilfenora in Miltown.

The top two teams in each of the three groups will go through to the last eight, while the two best third placed teams will also advance.

All today’s games have 4pm starts.
