Senior camogie round up

The 2nd round of the PK Coaches Senior Camogie Championship saw wins for Kilksihen, Newmarket on Fergus, Sixmilebridge over the weekend.
 
On Friday evening, Kilkishen had a comprehensive 2-11 to 0-7 victory over Wolfe Tones last night in Cloooney.
 
A dominant first half performance saw Kilkishen lead 2-6 to no score at the half way stage and while Wolfe Tones had much improved second half, it was too much of a hill to climb, leaving Kilkishen with their second win in the Championship.
 
Newmarket on Fergus had a 5 point win over Clooney Quin on Saturday evening in Sixmilebridge. The ClooneyQuin girls had 3 points on the board in the opening 10 minutes before Deirdre Cassidy levelled matters with a well struck goal in the 13th minute.
 
Newmarket added another 2-5 to Clooneys solitary point during the rremainder of the opening half.
 
Both sides traded points for the opening 20 minutes of the second half and Ruth Kaiser sealed victory with Newmarkets 3rd goal in the 57th minute.
 
Clooney added 2 goals, from Deirdre Murphy and Aisling Corbett but ran out of time leaving Newmarket with their second win in the Senior Camogie Championship on a final score Newmarket 3-9 to ClooneyQuins 2-7.
 
Kilmaley held on to beat Scariff Ogonelloe 1-14 to 3-3 in Clooney on Sunday evening. Kilmaley led 10 pts to 1-2 at half time and despite a more spirited performance from the East Clare combo side, with goals from Annemarie  Fitzgerlad & Marion O’Brien in the last quarter, it was Kilmaley who emerged victors.
 
Sixmilebridge had an emphatic  8.13 to 0-6 win over Corofin in Shannon Camogie pitch.
