Stack Appointed Sixmilebridge Manager For 2022 Season

Sixmilebridge have appointed club legend Sean Stack as manager of their senior hurling squad for 2022.

The two time National League winner, who won seven Clare SHC medals with the club, is joined in his management team by All Ireland winners Niall Gilligan and Michael O’Halloran.

Jim Fitzgerald and Adrian Chaplin complete the backroom team.

This will be Stacks second stint as manager having last managed the club’s first team in 2004.

Sean has played at all levels with the club and holds 7 county medals, winning his first in 1977 and last in 1993. He captained the clubs first team also on numerous occasions and in 1984 he coached and played with the seniors. At intercounty level, he was center back on the iconic Clare team of the 70s and 80s and widely regarded as one of the best center backs of his generation. His intercounty honours include National Leagues in 1977, 1978 as well as Railway cup honours in 1984 , 1985. All star status was also bestowed on Sean in 1981. Stack has served as an intercounty Clare senior coach, senior club manager/coach at Toomevara, Na Piarsugh and Clonlara. He has also managed numerous club teams in the past including successful U21 teams. Most recently he has managed the club minor team in 2018.

Mike O’ Halloran and Niall Gilligan have played with club and county at all levels and have won intercounty and club all Ireland’s. Niall was a member of the Clare U20 management team last year and Mike has served as minor club chairman for a number of years.

Jim Fitzgerald and Adrian Chaplin have coached a number of undereage teams in the club. Adrian has won senior county medals with the club and Jim headed up the Clare U14 development squad system last year and is involved this year at U15 level.
