Republic of Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni says he has no problem with what Glen Whelan said about the team formation.

The Stoke midfielder said he and his partner in the central area were often outclassed by the top sides as they were outnumbered due to Traps 4-4-2 system.

Ireland face Greece tonight with an attacking line up named that includes Seamus Coleman at right full, James Mc Clean and Robbie Brady on the wings with Simon Cox and Shane Long up front.

Trap has confirmed that Wes Hoolahan will start the second-half of tonight’s match.

Ahead of the game Captain John O’Shea has defended the managers favoured 4-4-2 system.

In tonight’s other friendly games of interest Sweden host England and Holland take on Germany while in a World Cup qualifier Northern Ireland meet Azerbaijan.

Kick off at Windsor Park is at 7.45
