UL are into the Fitzgibbon Cup Final for the fourth time in the last five seasons.
The Limerick college beat last years runners up Carlow IT by 4-16 to 0-19 to set up a showdown against DCU.
Clare’s Tony Kelly and Ian Galvin were among the point scorers, but David Fitzgerald limped off leaving him doubtful for the Banners National League clash with Cork on Sunday.
There could be further headaches for Clare too with the final fixed for Saturday February 24th, the day before Clare travel to take on Davy Fitzgerald’s Wexford in the penultimate National League Round.
